In 1973 Lula Gillespie was beaten, raped, and thrown over
the Laurel bridge to die.

She made it home and the police was called by her mother, Emma Gillespie.

The next day she disappeared.

We know that there are people still in Laurel that know what happened and are just to afraid to come forward.

A missing persons report had never even been filed.I wonder why the town marshal never filed a missing persons report.
